AKROIMA to begin operation zero potholes soon
As part of her resolve to live up to the expectations of the people by providing a pleasurable driving experience on roads as well as ensuring the safety of the Pedestrians, the Akwa Ibom State Roads and Other Infrastructure Maintenance Agency (AKROIMA) has assured that once the present weather condition improves, the Agency will begin operation zero potholes on roads across the state. The Agency made this known recently in a Press Release signed by the Chairman, Prince Godwin Ntukudeh, Ph.D.
Acknowledging the re-emergence of potholes in some major roads and streets particularly within the Capital city and even other local government areas which is connected with the incessant rains experienced in the last few months, AKROIMA promised to fill potholes in the affected areas as soon as the rainy season phases out.
The Agency maintained that it is almost impossible to get the best of repairs in the present condition of incessant rainfall which has caused the topsoil to be saturated with water such that no matter the quality of materials used, it will tantamount to a waste of valuable resources; and therefore appealed to the good people of Akwa Ibom State and particularly residents of such affected streets and roads to show understanding, as AKROIMA will deploy all known technologies to address the plight to effectively add value to the completion agenda of the Udom Emmanuel’s administration.
